hiking it

As a family, we like to hike around together.
As Trev trained for Mt. Rainier he would climb our own local Badger "Mountain" with a 60 lb. pack on his back, 3 times a week.
Many times we would join him, and even now that the Rainier trip is over we still continue to go.
It gets our bodies and minds outside; moving, conversing, laughing and it helps us appreciate the beauty around us.
Whenever we finish, I always have that feeling that my time was just well spent.
Not one moment of it was wasted.

Hi. That's a good view... why is it there are no trees?

... your family looks ideal ...

We live in the desert! Believe it or not there is a part of Washington,(the "Evergreen" state) that has no trees.

I love that you do that as a family.

These pictures make me homesick. I can smell the air. Somebody fetch me my horse.

Hey SP! It's good to see you lurking here too... Hello!

I also miss the smell of the sagebrush - but i have to say, I was home last weekend and took a walk with my family... It took me a week to get all of the dust off me! :) Love that Kennewick wind!

It's nice to hear others agree that this place can be beautiful. I really love our sky and sunsets.

It took me awhile to see the real beauty of the area, but I have to say that now, when we go on vacation, we are always happy to be back home. Love the wide open spaces, long summers, the breezes (and even the wind when it's not 30 mph!), warm starry nights, acres of orchards, gorgeous sunsets, all the river fun, and the DRY air....and the best part, family. You captured all that is great about this part of WA. Sorry you came at a windy time, Toni...serves you right for not coming to see us!!!! MOM

Hi Mom!

The wind is all part of the fond memories of home! Besides... it was probably the dust from Shelli's new house site that was blowing on me. :) That's what happens when you're living in a new, unsettled neighborhood.

I hope all is well with you!
