Waterslides, Peonies & Ginger bits, Oh My!

Wow, life can sure be busy, can't it? I've been wanting to post lately, but sometimes there just isn't anything you feel is noteworthy. But since part of the reason I blog is to journal, I thought I would just post about some of the things on my mind, noteworthy or not.

We just got back from a really fun weekend trip. We went to Triple Play in Idaho with friends. Among other things, it has an indoor waterpark and that is where we spent our time. Though our eyes stung from all the chlorine in the air, and Monkey C came down with a fever on the last day, we had a great time sliding down all the water slides. My favorite part was watching the kids, hanging out with friends and going down the slide that was shaped like a funnel. Whee!

Primary (the childrens organization in our church) has got me so very busy, sometimes I can't think straight. With meetings, events, visits & presentations, I will admit I am in a love/hate relationship with the job. I mostly love it, but sometimes wish I could more fully concentrate on other things I wish to accomplish. But talk about learning to serve...

Monkey A is busy as ever with her art. Remember when I posted her drawing she was going to submit to the anime club? Well, she submitted two actually and won both 1st & 2nd place. The drawing I shared with you got 2nd, and I haven't seen the 1st place drawing because they have it displayed at school. Here are a few of her latest creations. I love the one of the 3 girls, because it is a drawing of her & her 2 best friends anime style (she made herself with pink hair). The other one is the main character of the book she is contemplating writing.

Want to hear a funny joke? Or two? Here is Reese Witherspoon's favorite - "What did the zero say to the eight?"... "Nice Belt!" Okay, here is the other one from Bill Maher - I love it...Bill Maher is getting sick and tired of body modification. "Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you spiritual," he argues. "It translates to 'beef with broccoli.'"

I love Trader Joe's ginger cookies. Have you ever tried them? They have these yummy little bits of chewy ginger in them - that is what makes this cookie. I just had 5 of them for breakfast, oh so healthy!

I must be anticipating summer because the sun is shining right now and it is just so beautiful! It's making me feel warm inside. It is coming through the windows and lighting up the house.
I had a dream the other night of waterballoon fights & peonies. If that isn't all about summer, I don't know what is.

I can't wait for it!

When my 2 oldest were little, I had more time and we were good at keeping their room clean. With my 2 youngest, well...let's just say their room is always a DISASTER and I can hardly stand to go in there. We spent all day yesterday cleaning it up, even making a trip to TJ Maxx for some baskets and other helpful things. It's nice to have it clean, I'm hoping they can keep it that way at least for the week. And yes, I know the room needs paint, but I just don't have time for that at this point. Any color suggestions for when I DO have time?

JUNE 24! Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is coming out, and I cannot wait. My favorite movie has a sequel and the sequel looks HOT!

Oh, and if you have time, check out Trev's blog, Life is Good, he is trying to make a better effort at keeping it updated, and all you bloggers know how nice it is to have feedback. so if you have time, give him a click!

Happy summer dreaming!
Until next time...

I love the drawings! Check out the pottery barn kids catalog - they have a Benjamin Moore color line that they display on their pages. I'm really impressed with all the colors, great quality paint, and it is nice to see them in rooms like that. Yes! Transformers! Josh Duhamel... yum! Where do you get Trader Joe's cookies? Is there one in the Tri-Cities? And, I have to say - I find your new blog layout to be sexy. Is it the black lace at the top? I don't know... but it makes me wonder about you Shelli! LOL!

My favorite kind of post...loved all the updates! I think I need to try those ginger cookies, it might be a healthier breakfast option than the half-bag of Lindor chocolate truffles I downed this morning :) And Rachel's drawings blew me away. wow, wow, wow. Hang on, the good weather is just around the corner!!

Nice post! Random thoughts are always good. Eldon and I have made reservations for Triple play twice only to cancel for various reasons. I'm not a water fan, but I would totally go for my kids.
SUMMER! I am so anxious to get some warmth to my bones...I've been shivering since the sun went down in mid-September!

Rachel should be very proud of herself..love that darling granddaughter..such a good and honest heart. I'm going to look for a crisp gingersnap recipe online today. I bet you could call Jackie and have her send you some of those yummy ones from Trader Joe's. Sounds like she should send one to Toni, too!

I love that someone else loves Transformers as much as I do! I remember dreading the thought of taking my boys, and I loved it more than they did! Your blog update is great! I can't wait for summer either!

We've never been to Triple Play. It looks like a breeding ground for all kinds of respiratory disease. Sounds like the chlorine is there for that very reason!

Now that I have read this post I am spring trunky!
